12/17/2023 0 Comments Don t starve nintendo switch downloadYou'll need to have your console registered as the active console for downloads for your Nintendo Account by visiting Nintendo eShop on the device you wish to download on at least once. Don't expect it to be updated however, as it hasn't received anything almost since release. To be able to purchase download games or download demos and free software from Nintendo eShop on the official website, you'll need to have a Nintendo Account which is linked to your Nintendo Switch console. There's also no mods, so you can't much compensate for the outdatedness.ĭespite the issues, the switch version is still a solid game, and I doubt you'll find much else at its price point that can keep you playing for so long. You get everything prior to Hamlet (so SW and RoG), and minus the porting of DST content like beefalo taming. I haven't had any other worlds at this day count to comment on (thankfully?).Īnd finally, it most certainly is not up-to-date. The major technical issues are: seasons resetting to starter whenever you enter the ruins, and sometimes when travelling through the seaworthy SW morning/evening music loops multiple times before stopping, and can overlap with other music playing (this is EVERY time, and seems to happen for everyone) and seemingly guaranteed save corruptions for worlds with a high day count (~1000), possibly related to the size of the save file and exacerbated by travelling through the seaworthy.įor reference, I've lost two worlds now at day ~1000, both becoming corrupted after travelling through the seaworthy. There aren't many bugs that are exclusive to switch, though some are more common. There are noticeable drops in framerate during heavy rain, and smaller drops with big bases, but it's never unplayable. The major downsides are: not being able open a fridge and crockpot simultaneously, so you have to move food via your inventory having to move the character to adjust structure placement, which makes it very difficult to line base structures up nearly and the 'mouse-over' now simply locking into the nearest objects, making it very difficult to pick out the right object in crowded environments, and making ranges weapons unreliable. I personally prefer the controller for general movement and basic tasks like chopping trees. I may be a bit late for this, but I used to play the switch version a heck of a lot, so I can say a lot about it.įirst off, the controls are better than you'd expect for most things.
